Evaluation of skilled migration to the Riverina

  • Year: 2007
  • Country: Australia
  • State/Region: New South Wales

The purpose of this evaluation was to determine how well regional migration schemes are working in the Riverina region of New South Wales. The evaluation methodology included a survey of skilled migrants and employers in the Riverina, focus groups with skilled migrants and community members, one on one interviews with employers and community representatives, and one on one discussions with providers of services to skilled migrants. The report describes the measures taken to promote skilled migration among regional employers and the findings of the evaluation in terms of how successful the measures have been.
