Rural Rewards: The Career You Want and the Lifestyle Too

  • Year: 2007
  • Author: Casey, Carrie
  • Journal Name: InPsych: The Bulletin of the Australian Psychological Society Ltd
  • Journal Number: Vol. 29, No. 5
  • Country: Australia

The author describes the challenges and benefits of running a psychology practice in rural Australia. The limited anonymity, long distances, and the need to manage multiple relationships are offset by the slow pace of life and the diversity of people and experiences that offer a unique opportunity to develop a range of professional skills. She finds that being a rural psychologist does not limit her job prospects or career goals.
