The great divide: Sydney or the bush

The popular perception that the bush is going bust while the cities boom is challenged in this article which argues that some regional areas have thrived. Issues discussed include: adjustment to change by rural people; trade reform; productivity; falling commodity prices; misguided solutions; politicians out of touch with the community; and solutions that may work in improving the prospects for people in non metropolitan Australia.
