Getting Cold and Prickly on Saltland Extension

This paper reflects on the methods, outcomes and learnings from an institutionallydriven analysis that aims to determine whether and where to further invest in saltland pastures from an economic and environmental perspective. The analysis showed that following a five year proactive and targeted extension strategy operating on the south coast region resulted in a 5 per cent increase in the area of adoption of saltland pastures. In this example an additional economic value to the region is $11.6 million over a 18 year period.
