Central Queensland Economic and Infrastructure Framework

  • Year: 2013
  • Publisher: Queensland Government Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning
  • Published Location: Brisbane Qld
  • Country: Australia
  • State/Region: Queensland

This Economic and Infrastructure Framework (the framework) identifies opportunities for the Central Queensland economy to grow with the support of strategic infrastructure planning. By highlighting the economic potential of Central Queensland, the framework aims to encourage private sector investment in the region, as well as inform infrastructure planning, investment and delivery decisions. More specifically, the framework provides analytical and strategic guidance to the Central Queensland Statutory Regional Plan (‘the regional plan’) which has a land use planning focus. The regional plan defines Central Queensland to include five local government areas: Banana, Central Highlands, Gladstone, Rockhampton and Woorabinda (six from 2014 when former Livingstone Shire is re-established).
