  • Year: 2013
  • Author: RDA Mid North Coast
  • Publisher: RDA Mid North Coast
  • Country: Australia
  • State/Region: New South Wales
This report has been undertaken in response to a request from the Mid North Coast Local Health District. The Health Care and Social Assistance sector is now the largest employing sector in
Australia and in the Mid North Coast region. The sector also makes significant contributions to the Gross Regional Product of the Mid North Coast – currently representing 11% of the regions GRP.

The report is intended to provide an update on the key economic and employment measures of the Health Care and Social Assistance sector operating in the Mid North Coast Local Health District area. Additional economic modelling is also included to increase the understanding of the economic benefits – both direct and indirect – to the region from the large workforce employed by the Local Health District.
