The Carers' Association of South Australia performs services across the state, but the author focuses on approaches taken by carers in rural areas. She looks at the impact of caregiving on the health and well being of family carers and their lifestyle choices. She also considers current trends in Australian policy with reference to rural Australia, suggesting changes that need to be addressed so that family caregivers are able to maintain their health and well being whilst performing their caring role.
