  • Year: 2000
  • Author: Australian Bureau of Statistics
  • Publisher: Australian Bureau of Statistics
  • Country: Australia

Except for the state of Tasmania, all States and Territories recorded gains in population in 1999 - 2000. At a regional level, differences in population change occurred as a result of the interplay of the components of population growth with internal migration as the main determinant of the level of population growth. This article details the ten local government areas with the largest increases and declines in population growth in 1999 - 2000.
