9th National Rural Health Conference: standing up for rural health : learning from the past, action for the future

  • Year: 2007
  • Publisher: National Rural Health Alliance
  • Published Location: Canberra, ACT
  • Country: Australia

The 9th National Rural Health Conference took place in Albury in 2007, with the theme: 'Standing up for rural health: learning from the past, action for the future'. The conference presents papers on research and service issues of concern to rural and remote Australia, which have been collated as a website featuring sections for the communique, conference program, full text papers and keynote presentations, media releases, and photos from the conference. The communique section includes policy recommendations from delegates, and notes that over the 17 years since the conference first began, two issues have remained unresolved: the unacceptably low Indigenous life expectancy and the insufficient focus within national research programs on rural and remote health and wellbeing. Selected papers have also been indexed individually.
