This second national report on the health and wellbeing of young people in Australia provides information about the current health and well being status of young people and illustrates the many factors that influence health and well being. Part 1 provides background information, including population characteristics. Part two provides an overview of health status, with sections on health and well being, mortality, morbidity and disability. Part 3 examines health conditions, with sections on injury and poisoning, mental health problems and disorders, sexual and reproductive health, infectious diseases, chronic conditions, and oral health. Part 4 covers biological and behaviour risk and protective factors, with sections on substance use, diet and nutrition, physical activities, overweight and obesity, and sun protection. Part 5 outlines social and cultural risk and protective factors, with sections on family environment; relationships and social participation; education, employment and income; housing and homelessness; and juvenile justice. Part 6 focuses on population groups: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people; and rural and remote residents.
