Suicide prevention in country South Australia: towards a coherent approach

The Suicide Prevention for Country SA initiative is based on central coordination, support and the development of cross regional networking. The origin, development, model of operation, and activities of the initiative are described. The paper discusses the focus on young people and Aboriginal men in suicide prevention, the role of staff, opportunities for cross regional learning, networking and collaboration, local support for capacity strengthening, and sustainability.
