Need for a strategic policy framework to guide development of the southern Tasmanian council to tackle diverse needs of the authority and assist in decision-making - should include a whole of government approach with clear roles, responsibilities and co-ordination between different levels of government - federal, state and local governments should work together to develop a national sustainable rural and regional policy framework.
