Research on lack of rural female GPs

The under-representation of female GPs in rural and remote areas varies considerably from state to state and region to region. Female GPs, however, have a pivotal role to play in providing medical services to rural and remote communities in a sustainable manner. Strategies to support women rural GPs have been developed and further research is needed.
