Indicators of Regional Development in Western Australia (hereafter also termed the Regional Indicators Report) presents a picture of regional Western Australia in 2002, within a framework that considers the Government's strategic approach to regional and sustainable development.

The indicators in the Report measure the contribution made by governments, the private economic sector and communities to regional development, and the status of the regions in terms of economic, social and environmental outcomes. It tells the story of what is happening in the regions through examining a range of qualitative and quantitative indicators and makes comparison with State and Perth metropolitan data and information where appropriate.
