Grain and graze national benchmarking (profiling) project
A profile description of 'Grain and Graze' regions, which also provides a benchmark for assessing the impacts of the Grain and Graze program was prepared by collating, harmonising and analysing data and information obtained from diverse sources at the national and regional levels. The resultant Grain and Graze benchmarking database provides a good foundation of information which can be built upon as identified gaps in the information and knowledge base are redressed. There are a currently three types of gaps in the database. These are data that have not yet been identified, for example Grain and Graze regional inputs, data that do not exist or are not known to exist, and data deficiencies. The latter arise where only regional level data were available or where data was available only in summary form. The final report includes regional snapshot summaries for Avon WA, Border Rivers NSW/Qld, Central-West Lachlan NSW, Corangamite/Glenelg Hopkins Vic, Eyre Peninsula SA, Mallee SA, Murrumbidgee NSW and Northern Agricultural NT/WA.
