Arrangements to enhance effective use of incentive mechanisms for regional NRM

This policy sheet outlines a framework of principles to guide the design and delivery of incentive mechanisms that will maximise the links between regional natural resource management (NRM) targets and local action. The principles take into account community aspirations, social and economic capacity and current constraints to the adoption of incentives. The framework will be particularly useful to policy makers and regional NRM coordinators when designing institutional arrangements for delivering incentives. The policy sheet briefly describes the nine principles underpinning the framework, and discusses how each principle is incorporated into the framework.
