Engaging the productive ageing: enhancing regional and university viability, and senior health through an enterprising ageing population
The Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay regions of Queensland reflect the growing regionalisation of Australia's rapidly ageing population. The project described in this paper focuses on engaging the under utilised enterprising capabilities of the ageing population to achieve a range of objectives. The universities located within the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay regions facilitate the project's learning and innovation framework. The paper discusses regional growth and competitiveness, enterprising human capital and regional engagement, and university engagement.
