In this submission to the Senate Select Committee on Regional and Remote Indigenous Communities, the Institute focuses on the Committee's third Term of Reference: the health, welfare, education and security of children in regional and remote Indigenous communities. The submission discusses: 1) the evaluation of Indigenous community development projects funded by the Telstra Foundation; 2) issues and 'promising practices' in relation to out-of-home care for Indigenous children and young people; and 3) key themes from national and international literature on child safety and wellbeing in Indigenous communities.
