Torrential rain, riverine and flash flooding took place across Victoria from 4 September 2010 to 23 March 2011, causing major damage to whole communities, roads, rail networks, community infrastructure and the natural environment. Some communities were inundated several times, causing repeated damage to homes, businesses and the agricultural sector.
