This booklet presents the stories of ten nutrition and physical activity programs for Indigenous people in New South Wales, demonstrating the potential and effectiveness of community initiatives. The programs were all delivered by Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (aCCHSs), in rural, urban, or regional areas, and were developed with local communities to meet their particular needs. The programs include: The Cooking Classes For Diabetes Program, by the Aboriginal Medical Service Western Sydney and Western Sydney Institute of Tafe; Healthy Lifestyle and Weight Management Program, by the Awabakal Aboriginal Medical Service, Newcastle; Fruit and Vegetable Program and Market Garden, by the Bulgarr Ngaru Aboriginal Medical Service, Grafton; Diabetes Camp, by the Coomealla Health Aboriginal Service, Dareton; Healthy Food Awareness Program, by the Dharah Gibinj Aboriginal Medical Service, Casino; Spring into Shape Program, by the Galambila Aboriginal Health Service, Coffs Harbour; Healthy Lifestyle Program, by the Griffith Aboriginal Medical Service; Building Healthy Communities Project, by the Murrin Bridge Aboriginal Health Service; Community Kitchens Program and Water Aerobics Program, by the Pius X Aboriginal Medical Service, Moree; Community Kitchen Program and 'Koori Walkabout', by the Tharawal Aboriginal Medical Service, Campbelltown.
