Common hydrological features in Australian irrigation areas: scoping study
A scoping study examining the best way to present material on the common hydro-geological systems where irrigation areas are situated and which hydro-geological systems should be represented concluded that there is potential and support for a project which increases awareness of the similarities and differences across irrigation regions, supports investment opportunities and identifies key sustainability issues. In particular, the scoping study identified primary and secondary audiences of the proposed product(s), the most appropriate delivery mechanisms, the information structures required and linkages to local information data sets, and the potential to use case studies to capture variability of local issues and the sociological aspects of sustainable irrigation management. Preliminary costing for developing a quality product is included.
