Regional profiles and the analysis of regional characteristics

Utilising both Australian Bureau of Statistics and non-ABS data, this article presents the Western Australian regional profile covering the Midlands Statistical Division in order to provide an example of the range of data presented in regional profiles and how these data can be utilised in putting together a base picture of a region. The article shows demographic, labour force and income variables, and some economic indicators. Features and benefits of regional profiles are highlighted.
