Engage with key stakeholders in the region to develop a Rural Futures Statement that articulates the importance of rural communities as strong and viable sustainable economies, contributing to the health, character, liveability and wealth of the region.
Rural Futures aims to balance regional growth and land use change with increased rural production and economic diversification by:
- Promoting profitable and sustainable rural industries.
- Supporting diversified economic development opportunities for rural communities.
- Raising awareness of the interdependence between rural and urban communities.
- Developing rural infrastructure.
