Issues in Indigenous health
Arguing that current Aboriginal health problems are multi factorial and related to past experiences as well s to present conditions, this paper briefly considers policy development in Aboriginal affairs in terms of the issues of self determination, Aboriginal community controlled health services, and access to mainstream health services. It is argued that improvements in Aboriginal health status are bound to community development strategies and the government needs to provide more support for Aboriginal community controlled health services.
